Understanding the Mind with Venerable Yonten

Sat, 27 August, 2016 - Sun, 28 August, 2016
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

We can create happiness for ourselves through understanding how the mind works.

The nature of mind is clarity and cognition with a nature of experience. It has the capacity to develop what is healthy and to remove what is damaging.
It is said that you should not seek for Buddhahood outside yourself; the substances for the achievement of Buddhahood are within. As Maitreya says in his Sublime Continuum of the Great Vehicle (Uttaratantra), all beings naturally have the Buddha nature in their own continuum. We have within us the seed of purity, the essence of a One Gone Thus (Tathagatagarbha), that is to be transformed and fully developed into Buddhahood” – His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
This course will include meditations on the nature of mind and how to connect with the inner peace and clarity that already exists within you as well as how to identify and remedy inner conflict before you act without kindness or before it turns into stress.

Learn about the inner workings of the mind and in so doing, understand the nature of self, others, life and existence.
