These weekend retreats guide you in the practice of developing calm (shamata) through sustained attention, and insight (vipassana) through reflection – training how to see clearly into the nature of mind by direct experience.

The Friday night talk is a requirement for all weekend participants, whilst open to general public.

Facilitator: Venerable Antonio Satta
Italian born and ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1979, Venerable Antonio has studied with many of the high Lamas of Tibetan Buddhism. His heart teachers are Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

He studied Buddhist Philosophy and Tibetan language in Switzterland and Nalanda Monastery in France, and since 1991 has lived in Australia as translator, teacher & tutor at various FPMT Centres both here and abroad.

During 1981, Venerable Antonio spent some months in Sri Lanka learning the practice of Vipassana and over the past 15 years has concentrated on trying to integrate the Insight Practice of early Buddhism with the Mahayana, as a way to bridge these two traditions.
