We are so fortunate to have our precious Venerable Yonten-la teaching us again at Kunsang Yeshe Centre.
Live interactive event – held in the Gompa or from home
We will be streaming Venerable Yonten into the Gompa ‘live’ for each morning – you are welcome to join us for the teaching with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided. There will be plenty of interaction with Q&A sessions and wonderful guidance on the the practices involved. What a wonderful way to practice together. You will also have access to the recorded teachings in ‘Portal’ after the event.
You may also choose to participate in these teachings from home or afar – we will give you access to the ‘live’ streaming using your phone, tablet or laptop computer.
The teaching will be conducted over two Saturdays: August 15 and 22nd 2020
In Buddhism, like many in many spiritual traditions, death is seen as an opportunity for deepening your practice and finding the best ways to affirm the positive and beneficial in any life.
Both days will cover content suitable in preparing for your own death as well as preparing for the deaths of your loved ones. There will be guided analytical meditations suitable for everyone.
Part One: August 15
This day will include:
Life evaluation exercises and strengthening / connecting to your own core ethics and spiritual refuge.
What Happens at death and what continues after death.
Learn what happens to the body and the mind during the death process.
Meditations to prepare for and under the process of dying.
Part Two: August 22nd
This day will include:
Buddhist rituals for the dying and recently passed.
Learn the prayers to accompany common Western funeral formats.
Meditations for easing grief and healthy ways to nurture connections with those who have passed.

Teacher: Bhikshuni Lozang Yönten was ordained in 2003. She completed the Buddhist Studies Program at Chenrezig Institute in 2009 then continued to study, retreat and offer service at Dharma Centres in India and Taiwan as well as Australia and New Zealand, becoming an FPMT in-depth registered teacher.
Ven. Yönten was the Resident Teacher of Kunsang Yeshe Retreat Centre from 2011 – 2014 and we are always delighted to welcome her back whenever her work as an FPMT touring teacher and retreat leader allows. She is known for her fresh, modern approach and warm, engaging teaching style as well as her depth of knowledge and understanding. More…
