Lama Tsongkhapa Day, or Ganden Ngamchoe, is a celebration of the anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s parinirvana. It is celebrated on the 25th day of the 10th month of the Tibetan calendar. This year is the 600th anniversary.
Kunsang Yeshe had intended to offer Lama Tsongkhapa Guru Yoga and a reading of The Foundation of All Good Qualities, dedicating to all those affected by the bushfires this season and especially to the safety and well being of the fire fighters.
However, in view of the conditions in the Mountains today it was felt prudent to cancel. Stay safe every body.
For anybody wishing to commemorate the anniversary at home, the prayers and practices recommended by Lama Zopa Rinpoche are listed here.
There is a biography of Lama Tsongkhapa here, outlining his many foundational contributions to Tibetan Buddhism and especially to the Gelug tradition.
