The operation of Kunsang Yeshe Centre relies entirely on the generosity of our volunteers who offer their time and efforts. Can you join the team and lend a hand?
Some of the things with which help is needed are briefly described below. There are major roles and small tasks; regular commitments and occasional help – something for everyone. If you are interested please email the Volunteer Co-ordinator (who is also a volunteer) email@example.com
In no particular order:
We are working to establish a Garden of Reflection around the stupa, building on the ideas Geshe Tenzin Zopa developed at Narrowneck Road. Also, the area around the gompa, patio and path from the carpark needs weeding, trimming and mowing.
Staffing the shop
Our goal here is to have the shop open from 10:30 – 2:30 on at least four days per week including Saturday.
Having somebody there means that the gompa and library will be also open outside class times for private practice, reading or simply visiting.
The shop makes a significant contribution to our financial sustainability. As with any business it is essential that it is open when it says it will be, so it would be excellent to have some “reserve” staff who can be contacted if one of the regulars is unable to come in.
- cooking meals. When an event includes lunch or lunch and supper, we need people to make a main dish or sometimes a dessert. It’s easiest to make it at home,
- preparing the meal. This typically involves setting up the buffet, preparing salad, heating the food provided, serving Sangha. (Note that this does interfere with attending the session before lunch)
- staffing the registration desk
